Claude’s Door

Doors are the entrance and exit to a lifetime of stories, legends, and precious memories.

This door serves as the admission to the old Stagecoach Wait Station, near Blythewood, South Carolina. The Stage would pick up passengers from Columbia to Camden, and these stations

provided shelter ad safety for the event. After the installation of the railroad lines, these Stagecoach Wait Stations were transformed into dwellings for families. It was Claude Bundrick to be the last person to call this place home. In 1987 the old building was disassembled, and pieces of it went to various places and things. As of August 2020, this old door has come to rest in a place of honor at the Blythewood Historical Society and Museum in Blythewood, South Carolina.

It is with thanks to Bill Dixon, for providing the side windows that adorn this old historical door.
